Mr. Joshua Tan was trained by the Royal Malaysian Navy as an engine room Artificer, his initial 2 ½ years of training was carried out in Australia. He has served with distinction in many warships heading the Marine Engineering Department and also base establishment workshops. He holds a certificate from Sydney Technical college in Fitting and Machining, and a Diploma in Marine Engineering on completion of his 5 years apprenticeship training.
In 1986 he was a pioneering member in the formation of the Naval Air Wing called 499 Squadron and undergo another 4 years of intensive training with the Royal Navy (British) in aeronautical engineering and aircraft maintenance. He became the first Malaysian to assume the post of Senior Maintenance Rating and Maintenance Flight Test rating from the British after a total of 6 years training under supervision. His last position was Quality Assurance Warrant Officer responsible for ensuring flight safety and maintenance standards of helicopter operations on land and sea.
After 22 years of service, he has since left the Navy to join the private sector. For his contribution to the country he has received numerous award such as Bintara Angkatan Tentera from the King, Bintara Terbaik finalist from the Chief of Navy twice, Best student – Helicopter conversion course (TUDM), runner-up Best Apprentice (Australia).
With his vast experience and knowledge, he leads and formulates the right approach to preventive maintenance in the company sales and service department.
